How to Switch Workspaces

Managing multiple teams or groups? Here's how to move between workspaces instantly.

Workspace Switching

P

Just you

When you switch workspaces:

Vault items change

See only items for that workspace

Share recipients change

Can only share with workspace members

Notifications are scoped

Requests & invites for current workspace

Complete Workspace Isolation

Each workspace is completely isolated. Items, members, and share requests are separate. You can only share with members of your current workspace — no accidental sharing across workspaces.

Using the Workspace Switcher

The workspace switcher is your control center for moving between contexts:

  1. Find the switcher: Look in the top navigation bar or sidebar for your current workspace name
  2. Click to open: A dropdown shows all workspaces you belong to
  3. Select a workspace: Click any workspace to switch to it
  4. Context changes: The view updates to show only that workspace's items

Quick Switch

The switcher always shows your role (Owner/Member) and member count for each workspace, helping you pick the right one quickly.

What Changes When You Switch

Switching workspaces changes your entire context:

Vault Items

You see only items belonging to or shared in that workspace. Your personal workspace shows your private items.

Share Recipients

When sharing, you only see members of your current workspace. You cannot share across workspaces.

Notifications

Share requests and workspace invites are scoped to the current workspace. Switch to see pending items for each workspace.

Your Personal Workspace

Everyone has a personal workspace by default:

  • It's just for you — no members
  • Items here are completely private
  • You can't invite anyone to it
  • Perfect for personal passwords you don't want to share

Creating a New Workspace

From the workspace switcher, click "Create New Workspace":

  1. Enter a name (e.g., "Work", "Family", "Project X")
  2. Click "Create"
  3. You become the Owner of the new workspace
  4. Start inviting members

Common Scenarios

I'm in the wrong workspace

If you can't find an item or see the wrong members, check the workspace switcher. You might be viewing a different workspace.

I accidentally created an item in the wrong workspace

Currently, items can't be moved between workspaces. Create the item in the correct workspace and delete the misplaced one.

Workspace Isolation is Intentional

The separation between workspaces is a security feature. It prevents accidental sharing of sensitive work items with family, or personal items with colleagues.
