Before You Share
- Make sure you're in the correct workspace (use the workspace switcher)
- The person must be a member of your workspace (see how to invite members)
- You can only share with members of your current workspace
Step-by-Step: Sharing an Item
Select the Item
Open the password, note, or card you want to share from your vault.
Click "Share"
Look for the share button/icon in the item details view.
Choose a Recipient
Select a workspace member from the dropdown. Only members of your current workspace appear.
Request Sent (Pending)
The share request is created. The recipient is notified via email and in-app notification. They must accept before they can see the item.
Recipient Accepts
When they click "Accept", the item becomes visible in their vault. Done!
No Access Until Accepted
What the Recipient Sees
When you share an item, the recipient receives:
- Email notification: "You have a new share request from [Your Name]"
- In-app notification: A badge/alert in their AmnPass dashboard
- Pending request: Listed in their notifications with "Accept" and "Decline" buttons
Managing Shared Items
See who has access
Open any item and check the "Shared With" section to see who can access it.
Revoke access
To remove someone's access:
- Open the shared item
- Find the person in "Shared With"
- Click "Revoke" — their access ends immediately
Updates sync automatically
When you change a shared password, all recipients see the update immediately. No need to re-share.
Common Mistakes
- Wrong workspace: Check the workspace switcher before sharing
- Sharing with wrong person: Double-check the recipient before sending
- Expecting instant access: Remember, they must accept first
